In CERTAIN ERRORS, Wright said that seamen "do take the sun's declination out of their regiments without any equation by addition or subtraction of the part proportional agreeable to the difference of longitude of the place where they are . . . so may be deceived sometimes 10 or 12 minutes in taking the sun's declination."
